Laura has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, with roles including financial advice and financial planning, marketing, strategy and customer experience. As the head of the BMO for Women program, Laura leads the team that delivers the BMO Women's Segment Strategy for Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. Laura and her team are advocates for gender equality, and of reducing the challenges women face in their careers, businesses, and finances.
Laura is an Advisory Board member with GroYourBiz and the Emmy Noether Council at Perimeter Institute and also sits on the board of Femmebought. Laura holds her MBA in Finance and Accounting through the University of Liverpool and is currently completing her graduate diploma in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability with the University of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto. Her first company is one of Canada’s first content companies, MediaFace. Started in Lisa’s basement in 2007, it has grown to be an award-winning company with a studio in Toronto’s Film District. Canadian Business Magazine has recognized it twice as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies. Lisa was awarded the Enterprising Women of the Year Award in 2019. She serves on the board of Malachy’s Soiree. She’s also involved with WBE Canada, WeConnect, WPO, SheEO, WXN and other groups that help advance women.
Before starting MediaFace, Lisa built a storied career in TV news reporting and broadcasting. Her work has been seen internationally and includes interviews with local, provincial and national thought leaders.
