Join us for the official opening of WBE Canada's 12th Annual Conference. This is our second virtual Conference and we look forward to connecting our audiences from all across Canada and the U.S. Opening the Conference is Silvia Pencak, President & CEO of WBE Canada followed by Maddy Baker, Chair of the Board of Directors at WBE Canada. Learn what’s been happening behind the scenes at WBE Canada since we last met in November 2020, how we are evolving supplier diversity and what to expect at this year's Conference.

Maddy joined TELUS in 2016 after relocating to Vancouver and after a decade in Procurement, recently moved to the Business Solutions team. She currently leads activities related to Product Lifecycle Optimization including migration of all business customers from legacy products and services to TELUS PureFibre® network and third wave solutions. She is currently finishing her MBA as part of the TELUS program in partnership with UVic. Within the TELUS Procurement team, Maddy supported a breadth of spend categories and strategic programs. Prior to joining TELUS, she held progressive roles within GlaxoSmithKline in Europe and North America, where she ultimately held the role of Head of Procurement, United States.

Maddy is a strong advocate for women and supplier diversity, and is proud to be Chair of the WBE Canada Board of Directors. There is a strong commitment within TELUS towards Supplier Diversity, and a recognition that the program delivers an improved and innovative customer experience by taking proactive steps to provide equal access to a supply base that reflects the diversity of where we live, work, and serve.

Silvia Pencak is the President & CEO of WBE Canada, a Canadian non-profit organization certifying women-owned businesses and opening the doors to corporate & government supply chains under supplier diversity programs across North America. Silvia has over 20 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit and business environment, leading transformational projects and teams. She is regularly called a Juggernaut- accelerating the speed of change. Her diverse international background spearheading successful initiatives gives her a wealth of experience to lead supplier diversity to its next level to support Canadian women-owned businesses. Silvia believes in the power of partnerships and is always open to building alliances that benefit all involved. She is passionate about making positive impact in her communities.
