Barbara J. Orser, M.B.A., Ph.D. is a Full Professor and Deloitte Professor in the Management of Growth Enterprises at Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa where she is involved in research, teaching and advocacy focus on entrepreneurial feminism enterprise growth and women’s economic empowerment.

She is currently a member of UNWomen WE Empower Advisory Group Canada, Women’s Enterprise Policy Group (30-country consortia), Canadian delegate to the T20, board member of Women’s Economic Imperative, and advisor to Scotiabank, NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP), Canadian Bureau of International Education (Jordan) and Public Services and Procurement Canada. She also a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship.

Dr. Barbara Orser conducts research about entrepreneurial feminism, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) growth, and public policy. She is the co-author of bestseller Feminine Capital. Unlocking the Power of Women Entrepreneurs (Stanford University Press, 2015), co-author of two books on small business finance, and has led numerous large-scale studies about women’s enterprise growth.

Barbara Orser teaches undergraduate, MSc and PhD courses in Entrepreneurship.
